5 Natural Ingredients For Longevity

Image
The path of aging can be viewed as a bothersome, inevitable part of life to some.  Those invested in the journey  often look to various methods of biohacking as a way to lengthen what can be considered a short life  span.  The average life  expectancy for women is 80 years old and 74 years old for men.  Living to 100  years old may seem inconceivable but the reality is that there are individuals living past 100 years old.   According to the Pew Research Center, our global world is home to 722,000 centenarians most of whom  live in Asian countries such as Japan and China (Schaeffer, 2024).   The number of centenarians currently living is expected to quadruple  over the next 30 years. Will people begin to live past 200 and 300 years old in the near future? As scientific  discoveries continue to be made and longevity focused breakthroughs are attained, humans will live longer and more intelligently.   What are ...

Are Aluminum Containing Deodorants Still Bad for You? What The Research Says

Image
Over the past several years, there has been constant chatter concerning the harm that aluminum containing products can cause.  Aluminum containing products can range from cookware to deodorant to vaccines.  Aluminum isn’t simply in deodorants or cookware.  Aluminum can be found in processed foods, soda cans, antacids, pancake mix, puddings, aspirin, anticaking agents, foil, vaccines, aluminum containing packaging, cheeses, meat binders, sauce thickeners, emulsifiers and melting agents too. Substantial Amount of Evidence Confirm Aluminum Toxicity   Did this chatter develop out of nowhere and is it all just a theory?  The short answer is that the links between exposure to aluminum containing products and the onset of diseases such as cancer are very real and well substantiated by scientific research.  According to an article that appeared in the New York Times, the chatter began with a supposed email chain letter in the 1990s, which s...

6 million Cancer Cases were due to Alcohol Consumption in 2020!

Image
Various factors can be a contributor to cancer in humans.   Smoking is widely recognized as a cause of cancer.   If smoking and alcohol were multiple choice questions for a poll asking adults, “what is a primary cause of cancer?” most would probably select smoking.   Smoking is not the only culprit when deciphering causes of cancer.   It turns out that alcohol is another huge culprit!       A population-based study recently published in the Lancet Oncology discovered that alcohol use is linked to multiple forms of cancer (Rumgay et al., 2021).   Alcohol consumption can lead to a myriad of cancers.   These cancers include liver, esophageal, colon, mouth, breast, pancreatic, stomach and larynx.   Last year, 741,300 people had cancers that were appeared due to alcohol consumption.   Alcohol related cancer appeared more so in men than women.   However, of the alcohol related cases seen in women, the primary cancer was br...

Summer Walker: “I believe in Herbal Healing.”

Image
After an article was posted on the Green News Guide regarding Summer Walker feeding her baby hemp and honey, she took to her Instagram live to speak about different topics including why she was feeding her baby a hemp, honey and mushroom mixture in the recent past.  Summer owes no one an explanation as to why she fed her baby the whole foods mixture but the reason she did so was very clear.  She mentioned that her baby had a situation or what possibly was a minor medical condition.   Obviously, she independently discovered foods and herbs that would help her baby and used them to aid in healing.  In her live, she stated that the herbal mixture she gave to the baby “worked” and cleared up the issue that she was having at the time.  She said it was a short-term natural remedy that she fed to her baby.  In the previous article, I stated that people were jumping to conclusions and making assumptions that were not based on facts.  I also stated that pe...

Is Summer Walker Wrong for Feeding Her Baby Vegan Milk made with Hemp and Honey?

Image
Summer Walker recently came under fire when she posted a photo of her and her baby as well as a photo of products that she was feeding her baby.  The photo showed a picture of hemp seeds, raw honey, and mushroom powder.  It’s clear she was prepping the drink for her baby as there was a bottle next to the items.  Summer Walker innocently shared a photo of plant based nutrients seemingly wanting to show others that she is a health conscious mother who cares about the foods that she’s feeding her baby and I’m sure she was expecting a positive response from others but the opposite came running. A whole host of ignorant comments were suddenly then spewed towards Summer after she made her posts. One person criticized her in a tweet saying, “I just know Summer Walker not really feeding her baby seeds honey & shrooms. CPS go get that baby before I do it.”  Another ignorant comment stated: “Not y’all acting like people need to have kids to know it’s wrong for summer walke...

Daily Harvest: My Experience

Image
You’ve probably seen an ad for Daily Harvest on social media or came across one of their promotions in some type form.  The first ad that I ever saw from Daily Harvest featured a very creamy dessert. I believed then that it was the flavor, cookies and cream but I was oh so wrong!  It was a thick mound of white cream on top of a cone that was laced with eye catching black swirls.  When I saw it, I thought to myself, “wow, who made that?!” And from then on, I made a mental note of the company but hadn’t actually ventured out to try them. A zillion more ads and a couple of years later, I’ve mustered up the courage to see what the hype’s about.   Daily Harvest is a weekly vegan meal plan with typical food entrees such as flatbreads, harvest bowls, oatmeal and chia bowls, smoothies and even vegan snacks.  The meals contain simple, fresh non-processed ingredients made with various fruits, vegetables, seeds and nuts.  I’m talking eight or less ingredients whi...
