PETA Protester Confronts Pharrell Williams During Film Premiere

A protester from the organization, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), disrupted a speech being given by Pharrell Williams at a Biopic Premiere in Toronto.  She rushed the stage with a white sign in her hand that read:  Pharrell: Stop Supporting Killing Animals for Fashion.  Pharrell was in Toronto to support his LEGO biopic entitled, Piece by Piece.   The protester directed a number of statements towards Pharrell and the audience concerning his role as men's creative director at Louis Vuitton.   "Your Louis Vuitton collection … Pharrell’s collection is made from their blood,” the protester shouted to the audience. “Pharrell stop torturing animals! Ostriches are being hung upside down, electrocuted with their necks slit.”   PETA is petitioning Louis Vuitton to stop abusing animals and using their bodily materials for the purpose of fashion creation.  During the protest, Pharrell made a pause during his speech and outrightly agreed with the protester.  "Ok.

I created this tomato free ketchup for a client with a nightshade allergy. Nightshades are a family of plants that come from the capsicum and solanum families. Typical nightshade vegetables are tomatoes, peppers, potatoes, and eggplant. Nightshade plants contain a poisonous substance called solanine. The fruit and vegetable of the plant are safe to eat. However, those with allergies to nightshades or certain nightshade fruits and vegetables must avoid them in their daily diet. Industry legend, Cicely Tyson passed away at age 96, 3 days before the start of black history month. Who would have ever known that Cicely, a woman born in Harlem, NY would pass away in a place of the same name but in a different country (Haarlem, Netherlands) ? Cicely dedicated most of her life to the film, television and performance arts industries. Stalwart in disposition, whenever you saw Cicely, you knew she’d always have a wise or funny word to offer. Cicely was actively promoting her newly published book, “Just As I Am: A Memoir” before she suddenly died. Cicely lived an accomplished long life with major triumphs and achievements. She was awarded a long overdue Academy Award, Black Reel Awards, Emmy Awards, a Tony award, The Presidential Medal of Freedom, a Spingarn Medal, a SAG award, numerous NAACP Awards as well as many others. Louis Vuitton Embraces Sustainability in Pop Up Shop Road Tour

Louis Vuitton is increasing their sustainability efforts with a little creativity on the side. The brand recently launched a pop of store which includes a showcase of upcycled garments for its Spring/Summer 2021 collection. The pop up's “Adventures of Zoooom with Friends” theme was planned by Virgil Abloh, creator director of menswear at Louis Vuitton. The pandemic has caused fashion houses to push the envelope so that creativity can remain alive. The looks on display are being deemed as “seasonless looks” by the brand. Pieces on display in the Pop Up were made using materials from the brand’s Spring/Summer 2020 collections. The current collection is derived from four different fashion upcycling methods. These include: 1.) New looks made from recycled material 2.) Looks repeated from the Fall-Winter 2020 collection 3.) Looks freely created by the studio during the lockdown using recycled material 4.)
