Nikocado Avocado Woke up 250lbs Lighter! Vegan Again?!

Image
The Mukbang king, Nikocado Avocado, broke his 7 month silence after uploading a video to his channel last night.   He first appeared in the video wearing a big Panda head mask.  Beyond that gigantic panda mask, there was something noticeably different about Nick!   There was a super thin body under the mask!  Could this be a clone of Nikocado?  Is this really the same person who would down several cheeseburgers, nuggets, stuffed tacos and huge plates of noodles in one sitting?  Nikocado is the self proclaimed mukbang king of the internet and with that title came loads of weight gain. It was a real shock to see him slimmer than what he used to be as a vegan.  At the beginning of the video, he stated how he was "two steps ahead."  He went on to say that he had been a part of one of the greatest social experiments of his entire life and likened himself to being a villain of a story where he was able to have significant influence over his followers while remaining two steps ahead

Thousands of Women Are Speaking Out About Breast Implant Illness

Image
In 2018, more than 1.8 million cosmetic surgical procedures were performed on individuals in the United States. Of that number, approximately 400,000 women received a breast augmentation. The number of women receiving breast augmentations increases every year. Women, unhappy with the shape, size or look of their breasts, place their lives at risk to receive breast implants and undergo cosmetic surgical procedures. Other women opt for breast implants while undergoing plastic surgery. The breast implant craze began in the nineties at a time where the long-term effects of breast implants were largely unknown and never researched. At current, there still are no long-term studies that have provided knowledge concerning the long-term effects of breast implants. Plastic surgeons performing these surgical procedures have always touted cosmetic procedures such as breast implant surgery as relatively safe and non-harmful. The two options given to women for receiving implants are silicone a

Why American Cheese Won't Melt

Image
I recently came across a video in internet town of A New York man conducting a cheese melting experiment. He had a leftover cheese sandwich from his children's lunch and he attempted to do a little experiment with the cheese. he placed the flame from a lighter on the cheese and the cheese did not melt at all. the color became darkened and black as you will see in the video below. for some reason, this was really interesting to me, knowing that American cheese is processed but not actually ever seeing how the processed properties take to a natural earth element such as fire. Is chemistry the reason why the cheese is not melting? Some may argue that the cheese isn't melting because it isn't being heated on an even surface where sustained heat is applied to the entire cheese in an even manner. the flame, applied directly, is a cool flame therefore making the cheese resistant to it. The lighter fluid is made up of butane which is not a good source of fuel because it doesn'

Coconut Oil Benefits

Image
Coconut oil was not always considered to be the nutritious, healing ingredient that it is today. Ten years ago coconut oil was considered to be taboo by nutrition and health experts in the United States. Thankfully, this has changed due to research and the growing body of information that we now have today. Coconut oil is derived from the nutty, edible flesh of the coconut. Coconut oil differs greatly from other oils because of its saturated fat content. It is very high in saturated fat compared to other oils like safflower and sunflower oil. Coconut oil also differs from other oils because of its medium-chain triglyceride composition (MCT). Other oils usually consist of long-chain triglycerides (LCT) in their composition. Over 90% of the fat contained in coconut oil is saturated. How can an oil with an exceptionally high amount of fat be good for any one? Individuals interested in losing weight are usually told to stay clear of foods that are high in saturated fat. Though

How I Veganized Mpougatsa (Bougatsa)

Image
Mpougatsa is a Greek breakfast pastry pie that is very popular in Greece. I had the chance to make Mboutgatsa and it was very delicious. It was recommended to me by a friend earlier this year. From what I gleaned, the pastry is best enjoyed at breakfast or as an afternoon snack. Mboutgatsa reminds me of cornmeal porridge. If you could imagine porridge as a pie then you've got a good idea about what it tastes like. It consists of a few staple ingredients like semolina, butter and eggs. I decided to create a vegan version for those of you who don't desire milk and eggs. Read on for the recipe. Ingredients: (20-25) sheets of phyllo dough (3) cups oat milk [1/2] cup sugar [1/2] cup semolina (2) Follow your heart vegan egg--will need [10] tbsp water for the vegan eggs 3 tsp vanilla extract 4.5 tbsp of melted earth balance butter Utensils Needed Will require 1 glass 9.5" pie dish Paper towel (to clean up any spills) 1 medium or large pot 1 whisk (for stirring) 1 wooden spoo

New York Goes a Little Green with Plastic Bag Ban

Image
Any one familiar with bodegas and grocery stores in New York knows about our little grocery bag problem! Okay, that’s an underestimation because it has become a huge problem for the state, especially when litter is taken into account. New York residents use 23 billion plastic bags on an annual basis, greatly contributing to environmental issues. New York is becoming the second state to issue a statewide ban on single use plastic bags. This is a monumental legislation for the state which is being agreed upon by lawmakers within Senate. California was the first state to ban plastic bags in 2014, allowing businesses to charge 10 cents for reusable and paper bags. Governor Cuomo has set a goal to reduce emissions from our state’s generation of electricity and also desires to see a carbon free economy. He announced his Green New Deal in January of this year. Under this deal, it is proposed that New York will be 100 percent carbon neutral by 2040, ultimately eliminating the state’s enti
