PETA Protester Confronts Pharrell Williams During Film Premiere

A protester from the organization, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), disrupted a speech being given by Pharrell Williams at a Biopic Premiere in Toronto.  She rushed the stage with a white sign in her hand that read:  Pharrell: Stop Supporting Killing Animals for Fashion.  Pharrell was in Toronto to support his LEGO biopic entitled, Piece by Piece.   The protester directed a number of statements towards Pharrell and the audience concerning his role as men's creative director at Louis Vuitton.   "Your Louis Vuitton collection … Pharrell’s collection is made from their blood,” the protester shouted to the audience. “Pharrell stop torturing animals! Ostriches are being hung upside down, electrocuted with their necks slit.”   PETA is petitioning Louis Vuitton to stop abusing animals and using their bodily materials for the purpose of fashion creation.  During the protest, Pharrell made a pause during his speech and outrightly agreed with the protester.  "Ok.

Angelina Jolie Reveals that She will Undergo a Second Surgery

Last year Angelina Jolie, actress and philanthropist, made headlines about her decision to undergo a preventative double mastectomy. Jolie admitted that she carries the BRCA1 gene. BRCA1 stands for breast cancer type 1 susceptibility protein which is located on chromosome 17. This particular gene is responsible for an individual's increased likelihood to develop ovarian and breast cancer. Scientists have linked the BRCA1 gene with cancer development because of the hundreds of mutations that can be found in the gene. Medical providers told Jolie that she had an 87% chance of developing breast cancer and a 50% risk of developing ovarian cancer. A few days ago, she revealed to Entertainment Weekly that she is choosing to undergo another preventative surgery very soon. "There's still another surgery to have, which I haven't yet. I'll get advice from all these wonderful people who I've been talking to.....to get through that next stage," Jolie said. Angelina

While most four year olds are actively running around the house in circles, Mayhem along with her mom, Angie are busy working on their next sustainably made outfit. Mayhem is no stranger to the dress up phase that most young girls go through. When she became bored with the usual play clothing typically sold in stores, she decided to start making her own. Her first fashionable creation used two simple items: construction paper and tape. Mayhem began to ask her mother to help her create dresses using household items like tissue paper, wrapping paper, saran wrap, foil and towels. Many of the dresses that she designs take no more than 15 minutes to make. Mayhem has become so engrossed in dress making that she's memorized the amount paper that she needs to cover her pint sized body. “She could layout construction paper right now and

SUNCOAT COSMETICS NON TOXIC NAIL ART POLISH REVIEW

Image
It was pretty exciting to find a nail art set that was all natural.  If you are familiar with natural nail polishes, you know that it's rare to come across an all natural nail art set. It was wonderful to know that there was a natural alternative for women who enjoy doing creative designs. Suncoat Cosmetics is a Canadian company that sells all natural makeup.  Suncoat cosmetics makes three different nail art sets which come in a variety of colors.  The set that is being reviewed here is called "Earth."  The earth set consists of a white, orange, pink and mint green.  They are mineral based nail polishes and the size of the bottles are 0.26 oz each.  This nail art set did NOT deliver.  When applying the brush to nails, you'll find that the colors are extremely sheer.  The white hardly shows and it is more of a pearly, sheer, ivory color.  When trying to create french tips, the white polish in this package was not able to create a nice white line.  Even after piling on

Boots No. 7 is the # 1 drugstore brand in Great Britain. Boots No. 7 is a brand that carries cosmetics, skin care and beauty products. Boots Botanics introduced the Botanics line which boasts a variety of anti-aging products, skin and body care products that are plant based.  Our first purchase from the Boots Botanics line was the organic body butter. It is made with plant extracts, essential oils, and nourishing butters like shea and cocoa seed butter. After trying this product for about a month, it would only be right to do a short and conclusive review on this product.  This body butter is 85% organic.  This means that 85% of the ingredients have been certified organic by the proper certification body in the UK.  This is not to be confused with the Boots No. 7 body butter. That particular product does not contain certified organic ingredients. The Boots Botanics organic body butter is thick and creamy in consistency.  Upon using this product, you should be sure to take a good amount

Crumbs Gluten Free Bake Shop NYC Review

Image
There's a new gluten free bakery in town! CRUMBS opened up their first dedicated gluten free bakery in October 2013.  This bakery is one of 4 dedicated gluten free bakeries in all of NYC.  It is right smack in the middle of Greenwich village and a short walk from NYU.  When you arrive at 37 E. 8th Ave, you'll be greeted by squeaky-clean glass windows and a huge blue, block-lettered sign that says, "Crumbs Gluten Free."  You really cannot miss it.  Crumbs decided to open this gluten free bakery to cater to customers that eat gluten-free!  Obviously, they realized the importance of having a dedicated facility where there will be absolutely no chances of customers getting sick due to cross-contamination.  I decided to pay a visit to CRUMBS Gluten Free on a really cold January day.  Boy, was I in for some seriously tasty treats.  After walking in, I was greeted by a very nice, helpful worker who explained various options to me.  My eyes were glued to the glass casings whi
