FDA Bans First FD&C Dye! Which Will be Next?

The FDA has moved to finally ban Red Dye No. 3 from use in food and drugs in America.  Red Dye No. 3 was first determined to be a cancer causing color additive almost 30 years ago.  Studies conducted using labs rats found that they became inflicted with the disease after consuming large amounts of Red dye No. 3.  Thirty years ago, the FDA officially banned Red Dye No. 3 from use in cosmetics but left the door open for it to be used as a color additive in food and prescription drugs.  By January 2027, the FDA has ordered that Red Dye No 3 must be removed from all food in the USA and by 2028--from all drugs. Food Manufacturers Shiver in their Boots Red Dye No. 3 has mostly been used in baked goods, sweets and candies.  It is used by prominent candy manufacturers such as Mars Inc (Skittles) and Just Born Quality Confections (Peeps).  Food Manufacturing giants such as Con Agra, McCormick, Heinz, General Mills and Pepsi Co will all have to find alternatives for ...

Stop Live Animal Exportation: The Petition! SIGN NOW!

Folks, great things are happening here at the Green Lifestyle organization and we want to ensure that you're apart of it all! A few months ago, I premiered an article entitled "The problem with transnational animal livestock exportation." Just click that link to read it all about it!!!! I created a petition via change.org which I intend deliver (on behalf of the GLO organization) to the Grain Inspection, Packers and Stockyards administration, Australia Parliament, Gulf Navigation Holdings, and the New Zealand government once the petition reaches at least 5000 signatures. Well-- I hadn't checked the petition since it was created but I'm so happy to report that we are 1,966 signatures in!!! WE WANT ORGANIC MILK STARBUCKS!!

Many coffee drinkers are fans of Starbucks. From the caramel macchiatos to the vanilla lattes, the taste in a cup of Starbucks coffee really packs a punch! Though the taste may be good to some coffee fiends, one can’t help but wonder if Starbucks is using GMO free ingredients in their products. Truth be told, they have made the step to cease using milk from cows injected with the artificial growth hormone rBST in 2007! It’s wonderful that they have stopped using rBST milk in their products. However, they are still giving genetically modified feed to cows. This is definitely not a wise practice for a company like Starbucks to continue to do! GMO Inside is running a petition to get Starbucks to cease giving GM feed to cows. If you want completely organic milk and dairy products from Starbucks, sign the petition NOW!
