The Princess of Wales brings Awareness to Holistic Healthcare Upon Completion of Three Peaks Challenge

Image
The Princess of Wales completed the Three Peaks challenge over the weekend.  The challenge involves a blend of driving and trekking through three of the highest mountain peaks in England, Scotland and Wales--Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Yr Wyddfa. The challenge areas cover 23 miles of walking distance along with a 462 mile drive between each peak.   The challenge is open to the public and many aim to walk to the summit of the peaks within 24 hours.  However, the trek is so grueling and extensive that only 40% of the individuals attempting the challenge are able to complete it within this timeframe.  It is recommended that individuals desiring to complete the Three Peaks Challenge engage in strength training over a period of eight to twelve weeks. Whether Catherine engaged in strength training is unknown but she has always been quite athletic.  Not only did Catherine complete the challenge--she is part of the smaller percentage of people who were able to comp...

Fenty Hair Line Full Product Review

Image
When I received an email from Fenty Beauty that Rihanna was dropping a hair line, I was super stoked and ready. Like literally jumping up and down. That's how much I love the Fenty Beauty brand.  Listen, Fenty Beauty and Fenty Skin have GREAT products! When Fenty Beauty dropped several years ago, I can remember the advertising so well.  It offered and showcased a huge variety of foundation shades and proved itself to be an inclusive line with high performing, quality and clean products. Everybody--- and I mean everybody--- was talking about that drop!  It's literally set the blueprint for other cosmetic companies which have tried to copy and also carry more shades for darker skin tones.  Though I've used Fenty Beauty/Skin several times over the last several years, I'd say my current fave from Fenty Beauty is the lip balm. It's a luxurious lip balm with a unique shape that makes application so fun! I purchased that twice already and just lost the last one. Other repe...

Coconut Oil Benefits

Image
Coconut oil was not always considered to be the nutritious, healing ingredient that it is today. Ten years ago coconut oil was considered to be taboo by nutrition and health experts in the United States. Thankfully, this has changed due to research and the growing body of information that we now have today. Coconut oil is derived from the nutty, edible flesh of the coconut. Coconut oil differs greatly from other oils because of its saturated fat content. It is very high in saturated fat compared to other oils like safflower and sunflower oil. Coconut oil also differs from other oils because of its medium-chain triglyceride composition (MCT). Other oils usually consist of long-chain triglycerides (LCT) in their composition. Over 90% of the fat contained in coconut oil is saturated. How can an oil with an exceptionally high amount of fat be good for any one? Individuals interested in losing weight are usually told to stay clear of foods that are high in saturated fat. Though ...

Is Creme of Nature's Straight from Eden line all Natural?

Image
After viewing an advertisement for Creme of Nature's Straight from Eden line in a popular urban magazine, I think it is high time to explore the "jump on the natural bandwagon" craze that many commercial and mass-market companies have been embarking on. The advertisements, commercials, billboards and pr releases concerning products from companies who did not originally begin business for the sole purpose of selling products that are 100 percent natural. This is directly in regards to hair, beauty, food and skin care companies that have been around for decades that have never marketed, created and sold products that are considered to be natural or plant-based. If you haven't noticed, many companies are now starting to create products for health conscious consumers. However, many health conscious consumers are being duped by mass market, commercial companies that use certain keywords designed to grab these consumers' attention. Don't be fooled by a word on a ...

If you haven't heard of Shea-Terra Organics, your skin, hair and body are definitely missing out on some luxurious and scrumptious treats.  Shea Terra Organics utilizes shea butter as a main ingredient in many of their products.  The ingredients used in the skin and hair products at Shea Terra are sourced from Africa and contain therapeutic and healing properties.  The Mongongo & Banana Hair Food Masque is a rich shea based conditioner.  The masque is 30% shea butter and this can certainly be felt when applying the masque to the hair.  Light orange in color, the masque has a lightly whipped consistency.  It's a thick creme and  It doesn't disintegrate too well.  This product was applied to thick, textured, curly hair over the course of three months.  The product has a tendency to sit on top of the hair.  Shea butter has very strong emollient properties and can be a really awesome moisturizer.  As much as we wanted to really love...
