Nikocado Avocado Woke up 250lbs Lighter! Vegan Again?!

Image
The Mukbang king, Nikocado Avocado, broke his 7 month silence after uploading a video to his channel last night.   He first appeared in the video wearing a big Panda head mask.  Beyond that gigantic panda mask, there was something noticeably different about Nick!   There was a super thin body under the mask!  Could this be a clone of Nikocado?  Is this really the same person who would down several cheeseburgers, nuggets, stuffed tacos and huge plates of noodles in one sitting?  Nikocado is the self proclaimed mukbang king of the internet and with that title came loads of weight gain. It was a real shock to see him slimmer than what he used to be as a vegan.  At the beginning of the video, he stated how he was "two steps ahead."  He went on to say that he had been a part of one of the greatest social experiments of his entire life and likened himself to being a villain of a story where he was able to have significant influence over his followers while remaining two steps ahead

8 Foods with the Most Hidden Plastic

Image
Plastic is one of the most overused materials on Earth.  It is used for packaging, wraps, bottles, clothing, and various other goods.  Plastic based products are derived from non-renewable resources that are polluting the earth on a grand scale.  The fashion industry uses approximately 340 million barrels of oil to produce synthetic plastic based fibers such as nylon, polyester and acrylic.  Plastic continues to contribute to ocean pollution as it is transported through sewage treatments.  Sewage treatments or wastewater are dumped into rivers and oceans where wildlife soak up toxic micro and nano plastics. Nanoplastics in  Food Human beings ingest nano and micro plastic particles through the foods they consume. Plastics shed in a manner similar to skin and a person will not be able to tell if a food has high concentrations of microplastics in it.  Certain fruits, vegetables and proteins have been tested and found to have the highest concentrations of micro fragments of plastic due to

Happy Earth Day! Say Hi to Bruce...

Image
My new plant could not have come on a better day! Happy Earth Day folks!!!  Say hello to Bruce, the newest plant baby in my green scene.  Bruce is a Pachira Aquatica (Guiana Chestnut) plant in the Malvaceae family.  This Pachira Aquatica is in perfect health and is so tall (over three feet). I did not think that it was going to be this big and I’m so ecstatic to see it.  The number one aspect that I love about Pachira Aquatica is its braided trunk because well—it reminds me of hair! It’s pretty cool to see a braid in plant form.  Not only that, I love the idea of growing mini tree indoors.  Pachira Aquatica is native to the tropical wetlands of South and Central America.  I’ve already been eyeing a sister for Bruce that will grow well with it. It is the Dracaena Sanderiana which is native to the Asparagaceae family. Pachira Aquatica Needs If you’re on the fence about purchasing a Pachira Aquatica plant, just go for it. It requires positioning in indirect lighting for 5-6 hours per day

What's in Green Lifestyle Organization's 2021 End of Year Blessing Bag?

Image
One of the main initiatives of The Green Lifestyle Organization is the Blessing Bag, a small-medium sized bag which is given out to homeless citizens and shelters in the New York Tri State area.   Sooner than later, we'll soon be launching Blessing Bags across the United States to areas that need them the most.  Too often, homeless citizens are almost always given low quality items or ingredients.  Of course, those experiencing situations where they are in lack are grateful to have whatever they can get.  The mission of GLO's Blessing Bag initiative is to provide food and personal care items that are certified organic, non GMO and free of unsafe and toxic ingredients.   Here are some of the items that will be featured in GLO's 2021 end of year Blessing Bag: 1.) Made Good Dried Crispy Squares  2.) Nature's Path Flavored Cinnamon Flax Oatmeal 3.) Yoogi Tea 4.) Seapoint Farms Dry Roasted Edamame 5.) Twinings Tea 6.) Uncle Bud's Hemp Hand Sanitizer 7.) Dr. Bronner's

Is Summer Walker Wrong for Feeding Her Baby Vegan Milk made with Hemp and Honey?

Image
Summer Walker recently came under fire when she posted a photo of her and her baby as well as a photo of products that she was feeding her baby.  The photo showed a picture of hemp seeds, raw honey, and mushroom powder.  It’s clear she was prepping the drink for her baby as there was a bottle next to the items.  Summer Walker innocently shared a photo of plant based nutrients seemingly wanting to show others that she is a health conscious mother who cares about the foods that she’s feeding her baby and I’m sure she was expecting a positive response from others but the opposite came running. A whole host of ignorant comments were suddenly then spewed towards Summer after she made her posts. One person criticized her in a tweet saying, “I just know Summer Walker not really feeding her baby seeds honey & shrooms. CPS go get that baby before I do it.”  Another ignorant comment stated: “Not y’all acting like people need to have kids to know it’s wrong for summer walker to feed her child

Daily Harvest: My Experience

Image
You’ve probably seen an ad for Daily Harvest on social media or came across one of their promotions in some type form.  The first ad that I ever saw from Daily Harvest featured a very creamy dessert. I believed then that it was the flavor, cookies and cream but I was oh so wrong!  It was a thick mound of white cream on top of a cone that was laced with eye catching black swirls.  When I saw it, I thought to myself, “wow, who made that?!” And from then on, I made a mental note of the company but hadn’t actually ventured out to try them. A zillion more ads and a couple of years later, I’ve mustered up the courage to see what the hype’s about.   Daily Harvest is a weekly vegan meal plan with typical food entrees such as flatbreads, harvest bowls, oatmeal and chia bowls, smoothies and even vegan snacks.  The meals contain simple, fresh non-processed ingredients made with various fruits, vegetables, seeds and nuts.  I’m talking eight or less ingredients which are all whole foods-- no chemic

I finally tried Quorn and the truth is...

Image
I finally got around to trying brand Quorn. I had known about Quorn since about 2011-2012 and I was a bit hesitant to try their alternative meat substitutes. Perhaps that is because I’ve become acquainted with others that are pretty satisfying. Quorn uses mycoprotein to create their alternative meat products. Mycoprotein is made from fermented fungi spores and other nutrients. This protein is very low in saturated fat, high in fiber and amino acids. I tried the pesto mozzarella chik’n breast and let me just say that yummy is not even the word! It was fantastic and packed with flavor. The distinctive pesto meshed with the texture of the breaded quorn cutlet was a great pairing. You wouldn’t miss chicken if you tried it. Vegans and vegetarians have a world of options as far as protein substituting goes. They don’t just consume bowls of vegetables all day. That is the most common misconception of those outside the world of vegans and vegetarians. As you might know from our BAMFEI initiat

Hahaha! South Korea has created solar panels in the middle of a highway which possesses a bike path beneath it. Bicycle riders receive protection from the sun and are isolated from the environmental pollutants that cars create. The solar panels also help the country to produce clean energy. Cyclists in South Korea are receiving superior treatment. C
