Purchase Your Carbon Offsets at GLO

Our Earth releases approximately 27 million tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere every day.  Human activity has disrupted the natural balance of carbon dioxide in the Earth’s atmosphere and it is to blame for the significant inclines in greenhouse gases released into the atmosphere.  Human led carbon producing activity involving heat, electricity usage and transportation continue to contribute to earth’s fossil fuel problem.  These fossil fuel based activities are the largest contributors to climate change with as much as 90% deriving from fossil fuel burning.

Think about the activities that you utilize in your daily life.  Determine which of these activities utilize transportation, electricity, or heating.  All of these activities are likely utilizing coal, oil or gas sources and they contribute the most to carbon dioxide emissions.  Do you drive to where you have to go?  If so, how many miles are you driving per day?  Cars enable people to get to where they need to go in a timely manner but the privilege of driving is a detriment to our Earth’s atmosphere.  Do you live in a state where heating and cooling units run all day?   Are you utilizing electricity on a 24/7 basis in order to function in daily life?

If you’ve answered 'yes' to these questions and you are indeed human then it shouldn’t be a surprise that you are a part of our Earth’s fossil fuel burning problem.  We are all climate polluters by nature and the sooner we realize and accept this fact, the quicker we’ll be to resolving this problem.  As new technologies are born, the rate at which humans produce carbon emissions will increase.

One particular solution to resolving our human led carbon producing issue lies in offsetting the amount of carbon that we personally emit into the atmosphere.  Green Lifestyle Organization is now offering carbon offsets to the public as a measure for helping and encouraging citizens to lead conscientious, green lifestyles.  We believe that carbon producing activity should be changed at an individual level that can be carried out on a collective scale.

Once an individual is able to admit to the serious fact that they contribute to Earth’s carbon emissions, a form of action is imperative.  Though GLO offers another core solution for helping to resolve the issue surrounding carbon emissions, we believe in implementing as many core solutions as is necessary to help our global climate and carbon emissions challenges.

Purchasing a carbon offset can be completed on monthly, annually or even on a one time basis.  After calculating or estimating your carbon emissions for the activities that you partake in, you can purchase the amount in pounds or tonnes through the GLO store.  The average person produces about 3000lbs of carbon through daily activity.   If the aim is to offset a month’s worth of carbon producing activity, one would opt for a quantity of 6 carbon offsets for a total of $29.94.   If the aim is to offset a plane ride, take this example: A plane ride from the London Heathrow to Kahului Airport, Hawaii requires approximately 34 hours of flight roundtrip or 4.66 metric tons). You would then purchase your offset in tonnes from the store. It would require a quantity of 5 at $99.80. You will receive a digital certificate as proof of purchase.

When you purchase an offset, funds are used to support environmental initiatives and green advocacy at Green Lifestyle Organization. This is a green focused and environmental organization. Choose to offset your carbon emissions in an organization that is 100% committed to carrying out environmentally focused initiatives and solutions to the earth’s climate and carbon producing challenges.
