Nikocado Avocado Woke up 250lbs Lighter! Vegan Again?!

The Mukbang king, Nikocado Avocado, broke his 7 month silence after uploading a video to his channel last night.   He first appeared in the video wearing a big Panda head mask.  Beyond that gigantic panda mask, there was something noticeably different about Nick!   There was a super thin body under the mask!  Could this be a clone of Nikocado?  Is this really the same person who would down several cheeseburgers, nuggets, stuffed tacos and huge plates of noodles in one sitting?  Nikocado is the self proclaimed mukbang king of the internet and with that title came loads of weight gain. It was a real shock to see him slimmer than what he used to be as a vegan.  At the beginning of the video, he stated how he was "two steps ahead."  He went on to say that he had been a part of one of the greatest social experiments of his entire life and likened himself to being a villain of a story where he was able to have significant influence over his followers while remaining two steps ahead

Cooking Unified: Here’s What I Love about Cook Unity!

I was scrolling down my social media fashion filled timeline when a company by the name of Cook Unity suddenly appeared. The ad was very simple and it contained photos of scrumptious food; enough to draw any foodie in! I thought to myself..there’s no way this is a regular meal delivery company.  Everything looked so palatable and enticing!  

Signing up with Cook Unity was more than a breeze. The ad brought me to the website and I signed up immediately.  Cook Unity offers a wealth of meal selections.  Whatever your tastebuds are desiring, they have it all.  You will get the chance to taste the world whether it’s Latin, African, Asian or Italian food, they’ve got a great gourmet pick.  Cook Unity has the most diverse meal selections that I’ve seen of any meal delivery program—one advantage that they have over other meal delivery companies such as Hello Fresh, Gobble or Green Chef.

What is Cook Unity?

Cook Unity is based here in New York.  Customers choose meals according to the region they reside in (East Coast, West Coast, Texas and Midwest). Sorry to our other Southern states as it looks like Cook Unity may not be in the area yet.  In bold white letters, the statement, “Hot chefs, Hundreds of Dishes. Nothing boring” was boldly displayed on the website.  With a statement like that you can bet that your tastebuds will be completely satisfied and left wanting for more!


So Much Variety

The second advantage that Cook Unity has over other meal delivery programs is that all of the meals come prepared by tops chefs some of whom are even Michelin starred. Cook Unity has a mission to bring together and empower Chefpreneurs (ok I made that word up but they are entrepreneur chefs) and provide the tools and opportunity for them to serve their food to thousands of people.  

I had no idea what I was in for when I signed up for Cook Unity but I was completely open to every surprise that it was going to give me.  I narrowed my ingredient list and was able to exclude those that I did not desire.  If you want to exclude an ingredient as random as parsley or water chestnuts, you’ll be able to do so under the meal preferences section.   There ia a vast variety of options available.  As I look on my upcoming menu, I am able to select from over 300 meals. How amazing!  If you know me, then you know I love variety and I enjoy trying new foods.  Cook Unity is a foodie’s playground for sure. 


So What about Them Meals...?

Listen I’m going to be verrrrrrrry honest! I’m here nodding at the fact that there wasn’t a bad meal. Now, I’m never a Debbie downer but I was waiting each day to see if there was going to be a meal that didn’t perform taste-wise. That never happened.  It just kept getting better and better.

Cook Unity surpassed all my expectations for a meal delivery program.  Most of the meals I tried were vegan or vegetarian and I also chose a few seafood dishes as well.   I’m still RAVING about the Sprouted Lentil Shepherd’s pie and I highly suggest you try that one!  As one who's made shepherd's pie in the past, I'll proudly say that mine doesn't even compare ; )

Octavia Spencer plays Mother Earth in Apple Commercial. Keeping Apple in Check!

Apple premiered their yearly Apple Event introducing the new Apple Series 9 Apple Watch and the iPhone 15 standard, plus and pro models.  During the event, a commercial was premiered featuring Octavia Spencer, Tim Cook (CEO of Apple), Lisa Jackson (VP of Environment, Policy and Social Initiatives.  This funny commercial saw Octavia present herself as “Mother Nature,” a stern yet comical corporate responsibility officer.  Before Octavia entered the scene, all the officers and workers at the meeting were shuffling around looking nervous and anxious while drinks shook on the table.   We even saw Tim Cook rehearsing the lines that he would repeat to Mother Nature when she entered.   After Mother Nature arrives, Tim Cook, asks her “how was the weather getting in?” Mother Nature then says, “the weather was however I wanted it to be!”   Mother nature reminds Mr. Cook of his promise in 2020—which is to bring Apple’s carbon footprint to zero by 2030. Leave the Sea Turtles Alone: Nine Die from Consuming Marine Turtle Meat

Nine individuals passed away from consumption of endangered marine turtles in Pemba Island, Zanzibar last month.  A total of eight children and one adult died due to chelonitoxism or food poisoning from the contaminated turtle meat.  Death from chelonitoxication is thought to be a rare happening and is mostly associated with consuming marine turtles such as Green sea turtle, Hawksbill turtle, Olive Ridley and Leatherback turtles.    Consumption of sea turtles is considered a delicacy in remote places and African countries such as Tanzania and Madagascar, French Polynesia and Indo-Pacific regions.  The sea meat is usually consumed at celebratory gatherings.  The individuals who cook and consume marine turtles are unable to decipher if the meat is toxic because the marine turtles appear healthy and do not display any symptoms.  The chelonitoxins cannot be destroyed through heat or cooking.  The chelonitoxism that occurs in marine turtles are due to environmental factors which may include
