McDonald's To Release New Iconic Vegan Burger (McPlant)

Vegetarian Chickadees who love their Mickeydees will now have a solid option to eat at McDonald's in 2021. It appears that McDonald’s has decided to catch up with their competitor Burger King who launched the Impossible plant based burger earlier this year. The Impossible Burger was widely received by many seeking meatless fast food options.

McDonald’s announced that it will introduce the McPlant; a new plant based burger option that will definitely have some competition with the Impossible burger. McDonald's did not go into detail about the burger and what will be on it. They’ve only promised that the McPlant will be an iconic plant based burger.

"There are other plant-based burgers out there, but the McPlant delivers our iconic taste in a sink-your-teeth-in (and wipe-your-mouth) kind of sandwich. It’s made with a juicy, plant-based patty and served on a warm, sesame seed bun with all the classic toppings."

Beyond meat teamed up with McDonald's to help them create the "iconic" burger.

McDonald's tested the McPlant out in Canada under the name "P.L.T. Burger" and received good feedback from Canadians who tried it. After the overall positive feedback from the region, McDonald’s decided to make the McPlant global.

The industry of fast food is changing. As more people embark on a vegan or vegetarian lifestyle, food establishments have no choice but to go with THE flow and begin catering to people who live AND eat non-traditionally. That---and perhaps they were losing customers to Burger King!

Mcdonald's has quite a large carbon footprint and as you know from the B.A.M.F.E.I. INITIATIVE, decreased consumption of beef will turn the climate crisis around in a major way. McDonald's is headed in the right direction by introducing a plant based burger to their global menu. If more people who visit the establishment opt for that instead of their beef burgers. Both of the company's and the people consuming the McPlant could substantially decrease their carbon footprint.

Will you be tasting the new McPlant burger?
