Moschino Has the Most Socially Responsible Fashion Show to Date

Jeremy scott, creative director at Moschino, produced a very socially responsible show at SS21 fashion week. he came up with a brilliant idea to showcase a life-like show using marionette puppets instead of live models. It's wonderful that Jeremy took the socially responsible route by refraining from having people attend a live show, which would have put people at risk for spreading or receiving the virus.

Seated in the audience were marionnette versions of fashion heads, Anna Wintour, Edward Enningul, Nina Garcia, and Vanessa Friedman. Even Mr. Scott himself had a puppet. The Moschino SS2021 show went on without a real live person modeling the clothes and yet it still managed to be one of the most flawless and creative shows of the century! The film of the show premiered in Times Square, NYC.

Jeremy elaborated on how he came up with the idea to use marionettes:

"My mantra has been from the very beginning, ‘My body may be in quarantine, but my mind isn’t.’ I’m a creative person who is extremely used to lots of people, travel, all these different things going on and to have everything just stop, I had to think about how to create and deliver the emotion of my work."

The fashion designs that Jeremy created were scaled to fit the marionettes. Photographs of real life models in the actual outfits were released after the film's premiere.

Regarding creativity, Jeremy had this to say:

"Fundamentally I think about creativity like water. I can pour it in a glass, in a vase. I could pour it in my pool, I could pour it in the cracks of the sidewalk. It will still be water. It will still be creativity. It will just take different forms.”

Not only was this show socially conscious, it was elegant, ethereal, innovative and nostalgic.

Can we please have a standing ovation for Jeremy Scott and the Jim Henson Creature Shop?!
