The FDA has moved to finally ban Red Dye No. 3 from use in food and drugs in America.  Red Dye No. 3 was first determined to be a cancer causing color additive almost 30 years ago.  Studies conducted using labs rats found that they became inflicted with the disease after consuming large amounts of Red dye No. 3.  Thirty years ago, the FDA officially banned Red Dye No. 3 from use in cosmetics but left the door open for it to be used as a color additive in food and prescription drugs.  By January 2027, the FDA has ordered that Red Dye No 3 must be removed from all food in the USA and by 2028--from all drugs. Jazmine Sullivan Goes Vegan and Drops a Few Dress Sizes

Powerhouse sanger, Jazmine Sullivan, or as I like to call her “J Sully” has gone VEGAN!!!!!! Welcome to the world of vegan, J Sully!!!!! On the set of her new music video for “Lost One,” Jazmine revealed that her mother is battling inflammatory breast cancer and she desired to support her mother by going vegan with her. Going vegan obviously changed Jazmine’s life in a major way because she’s lost 50 lbs.

“My goal was to support my mother through her battle with cancer by going vegan with her, and in turn it helped me as well. And I feel really good,” she said.

It’s not a surprise that Jazmine’s mother, pamela, has decided to turn to a vegan plant based diet. I’ve known a couple of individuals who either died from cancer or who are battling cancer and there is a commonality among them. They were or are avid meat eaters. Individuals battling cancer may opt to take an alternative approach and focus on creating major lifestyle changes. This lifestyle change may entail complete removal of meat and dairy from their diet. Apparently, this is the action that Jazmine Sullivan’s mother has taken.

Nene Leakes husband, Greg, of RHOA was very open about his cancer battle and audience viewers saw when he opted for an alternative health approach after he had been undergoing chemotherapy for some time. On the show, viewers saw Greg grow weary of chemotherapy. Greg ultimately chose to abide by a holistic health approach and as a result, his stage 3 colon cancer is now in remission.
Too often, black women are not praised when they decide to adopt alternative lifestyles to get healthier, to lose weight or to stay fit. Jazmine Sullivan looks every bit of amazing, yet she received criticism from other black women who thought that she became too thin. She has denounced any desire to be “skinny.”
“Last week some people dragged me saying I look sickly. I’m honestly a size 12. 180 lbs. There’s nothing skinny about me but my neck….I ain’t skinny and that was never my goal.”

Jazmine should know that she does not have to explain herself to these random naysayers. The vegan and vegetarian way is the best way! the most conscious way.

Not only has J Sully decided to get healthier, she is taking a profoundly selfless step in helping to support her mother as she battles with cancer. Jazmine Sullivan is an example that a few of these critiquing women could stand to follow.
