Juneteenth Healthy Strawberry Soda

Juneteenth has been celebrated for over 150 years. Though it's been celebrated for so long, many Americans don't have a clue what Juneteenth is. This year, the holiday is gaining momentum and recognition as a result of widespread protests as well as a shift towards focusing on systemic racism. Some citizens are calling for Juneteenth to be recognized as a national holiday. New York mayor Bill Deblasio has declared Juneteenth a holiday in the state of New York beginning in 2021. Companies like Nike and Twitter have declared Juneteenth a paid holiday.

One tradition of Juneteeth entails the drinking of strawberry soda. The tradition is symbolic in nature. Red or pink drinks consumed on Juneteenth symbolize the blood that was shed by slaves and the resilience that they had while they were in bondage.
Here's an easy peasy healthy organic "strawberry soda" recipe to be enjoyed at your Juneteenth celebration:
1/2 cup of organic strawberries diced
1 cup Alkaline water
8-10 drops liquid stevia OR 4-5 TBSP Blue organic agave nectar
3-5 cans La Croix sparkling water (Berry)
Vitamix blender
Directions:

1.) Add diced strawberries to blender on low setting and blend with water.

2.) Take your cans of La Croix Berry and add them to mixture.

3.) Add drops of stevia or agave and stir.

4.) Pour mixture into your favorite glass

***The color will not be red but a nice natural pink hue due to the fact that there is no added food coloring. No need for those chemicals!***
