Nikocado Avocado Woke up 250lbs Lighter! Vegan Again?!

Image
The Mukbang king, Nikocado Avocado, broke his 7 month silence after uploading a video to his channel last night.   He first appeared in the video wearing a big Panda head mask.  Beyond that gigantic panda mask, there was something noticeably different about Nick!   There was a super thin body under the mask!  Could this be a clone of Nikocado?  Is this really the same person who would down several cheeseburgers, nuggets, stuffed tacos and huge plates of noodles in one sitting?  Nikocado is the self proclaimed mukbang king of the internet and with that title came loads of weight gain. It was a real shock to see him slimmer than what he used to be as a vegan.  At the beginning of the video, he stated how he was "two steps ahead."  He went on to say that he had been a part of one of the greatest social experiments of his entire life and likened himself to being a villain of a story where he was able to have significant influence over his followers while remaining two steps ahead

Juice Beauty Phyto-Pigments Flawless Serum Foundation Review

Juice Beauty has a new foundation and I'm so excited to GAB all about it! About a year ago, as I embarked on my never ending search for the “holy grail” natural foundation, I came across Juice Beauty’s only foundation at the time. It was the Juice Beauty Perfecting Foundation.  Unfortunately, there were only three shades in this foundation and none of them were for darker skin tones!

Slightly annoyed about the lack of foundation shades, I decided to email Juice Beauty to ask them to please introduce shades for women with darker skin tones.  The issue of a lack of foundation shades for darker skin tones seems to be pretty widespread. I can think of quite a few prominent natural makeup and cosmetic brands that do not carry shades for darker skin tones or do not have enough shade matches for these skin tones. What’s the deal with that?! Don’t forget about the other end of the color rainbow my wonderful organic and natural companies!!  Women with darker skin tones are interested in cruelty free, organic, and toxin free makeup!

When I realized that Juice Beauty had a new foundation on the market, you should have seen my face! I was more than ecstatic to learn about their new Phyto-Pigments Flawless Serum Foundation.  I saw that there were three shades that could possibly be a match for me but I wasn’t sure which one to get so I contacted Juice Beauty for further clarification. Juice Beauty was so kind enough to send samples of these three shades.  They are shades Medium Tawny, Tawny and Deep.  Medium Tawny is a shade for light to tan skin with golden undertones and Tawny is a shade for tan to deep colored skin with pink undertones.  The shade Deep is the darkest shade in the range of colors. This shade is for medium-dark brown skin tones with golden undertones.

First off, let me start by talking about the pros of this foundation. It feels really great on the face.  The skin is definitely breathable and you don’t have the “Caked” feeling or look! Phyto Pigments Foundation is lightweight but provides really great coverage. The coverage can range from full to medium.  I applied enough for full coverage and that is what I received.  It’s a really healthy foundation that utilizes plant-derived phyto pigments.  These pigments in the foundation help to provide the skin with an ageless, youthful appearance. It is power-packed with awesome ingredients like argan and rose powders, aloe juice and coconut alkanes.

I have noticed other “natural” makeup companies using coconut alkanes as an ingredient in liquid foundation. It seems that coconut alkanes is a more natural alternative for silicones, and it sort of acts like a primer. It’s great to know that you can skip the primer step with a foundation like this one.

As for the CONS: Now I really appreciate that Juice Beauty was able to provide darker shades in this foundation; however, I feel as if there needs to be at least 3 more.  When I opened the jar and looked at the Medium Tawny (the lightest I received), I thought it was a lot lighter than what I was expecting.  Tawny was still a little too light for my tone but almost workable. Deep was unfortunately too dark for my tone.  I’m a shade somewhere between Tawny and Deep. Also, it would be great if Juice Beauty added a shade for neutral undertones (no gold or pink). As someone who is very knowledgeable about makeup for darker tones in both “natural” and non-natural makeup, I will say that Deep may work for my dark brown sisters but for my caramel or medium brown sisters, it’s going to be too dark.  The other two medium Tawny and Tawny are definitely going to be too light.  There also needs to be one or two more darker tones for our dark chocolate brown sisters! The picture below has swatches of the three darkest shades!

I decided to be a mixtress and mixed deep and tawny together to see if I could get the shade I needed and it worked out! When I mixed those two together I was able to get a shade close to the one that is workable for my tone. See the picture below for the shade that I created!

I also flipped the script and used tawny and tawny as a concealer because the shades were workable for concealing purposes.  My only plea to Juice Beauty would be to add a few more (maybe 1 or 2 for now) shades for darker tones! Other than that, I love the foundation.  The price point is $42, which I think is considerably fair for an organic or natural foundation with wholesome ingredients.

This foundation is formulated without silicones, parabens, glycols, sulfates, pesticides, phthalates, synthetic fragrances and artificial dyes.
