FDA Bans First FD&C Dye! Which Will be Next?

The FDA has moved to finally ban Red Dye No. 3 from use in food and drugs in America.  Red Dye No. 3 was first determined to be a cancer causing color additive almost 30 years ago.  Studies conducted using labs rats found that they became inflicted with the disease after consuming large amounts of Red dye No. 3.  Thirty years ago, the FDA officially banned Red Dye No. 3 from use in cosmetics but left the door open for it to be used as a color additive in food and prescription drugs.  By January 2027, the FDA has ordered that Red Dye No 3 must be removed from all food in the USA and by 2028--from all drugs. Juice Beauty has a new foundation and I'm so excited to GAB all about it! About a year ago, as I embarked on my never ending search for the “holy grail” natural foundation, I came across Juice Beauty’s only foundation at the time. It was the Juice Beauty Perfecting Foundation.  Unfortunately, there were only three shades in this foundation and none of them were for darker skin tones! Slightly annoyed about the lack of foundation shades, I decided to email Juice Beauty to ask them to please introduce shades for women with darker skin tones.  The issue of a lack of foundation shades for darker skin tones seems to be pretty widespread. I can think of quite a few prominent natural makeup and cosmetic brands that do not carry shades for darker skin tones or do not have enough shade matches for these skin tones.
