Daiya Margherita Pizza Review

Vancouver, B.C. based Daiya brand foods, caters to individuals living a dairy free or vegan life style.  Daiya is most notably known for their vegan cheeses which come in different varieties (mozzarella, cheddar, and pepper jack).  Scurrying down the frozen pizza isle at Whole Foods, one couldn't help but notice that Daiya has frozen pizzas! Who knew?!

The most awesome aspect of the pizza is that they're also gluten free and free of the top 10 allergens. It's so hard to find frozen pizza that is also gluten free, soy free and dairy free.  There was a fire roasted vegetable pizza, margherita pizza and another type which we're unable to recall at the moment.  The margherita pizza looked so good, sitting there in the freezer. Absolutely had to have it!

The taste of this vegan pizza was definitely spot on!  The basil and tomato combination, along with Daiya's mozzarella shreds gave us pizza nostalgia for sure.  We don't know what was better, the crust or the toppings.  The GF crust was just perfect, actually one of the best gluten free pizza crusts we've tasted in a long time.  It was a thin, crispy, yet slightly chewy crust.  It went so well with the sauce, cheeses and toppings.  A little garlic powder and parsley was sprinkled over the pizza before indulging.

This was given to a few heavy dairy eaters and they were quite pleased with the pizza!  With that said, Daiya, simply natural solutions gives your pizza our stamp of approval.  You've been such a great help in providing various options to the dairy free and vegan communities. Be sure to keep us in the know!
