The FDA has moved to finally ban Red Dye No. 3 from use in food and drugs in America.  Red Dye No. 3 was first determined to be a cancer causing color additive almost 30 years ago.  Studies conducted using labs rats found that they became inflicted with the disease after consuming large amounts of Red dye No. 3.  Thirty years ago, the FDA officially banned Red Dye No. 3 from use in cosmetics but left the door open for it to be used as a color additive in food and prescription drugs.  By January 2027, the FDA has ordered that Red Dye No 3 must be removed from all food in the USA and by 2028--from all drugs. Food Manufacturers Shiver in their Boots Red Dye No. 3 has mostly been used in baked goods, sweets and candies.  It is used by prominent candy manufacturers such as Mars Inc (Skittles) and Just Born Quality Confections (Peeps).  Food Manufacturing giants such as Con Agra, McCormick, Heinz, General Mills and Pepsi Co will all have to find alternatives for ...

Real Purity Lipstick Review

I discovered the Real Purity Brand on the EWG cosmetics database.  Their cosmetics had excellent ratings with practically no health concerns whatsoever.  Real Purity utilizes pure ingredients and there are no toxic junk in their cosmetics and skin care products.  I cannot wait to try some of their skin care products.

For now, I'll leave you with this brief review of their lipstick.  When I went over to the website, I was ecstatic to see so many shades.  I've found that when shopping for cosmetics with toxic free brands, there really aren't too many choices for darker skin tones.  Real Purity probably has over 20 lipstick shades to choose from.

The color in review is called Harvest Blush and it is on the brown - copper toned scale of the color continuum.

Applying the lipstick is a snazz! It goes on really smooth.  While turning the barrel to get the lipstick out, I noticed that it was kind of slim compared to other lipsticks that I own.  The color was pretty apparent and looks gorgeous against brown skin. It has a subtle shine to it.

The only thing that I was slightly worried about while applying is the lipstick breaking.  It breaks down quickly while pressing it against the lips.  You'll want to be careful not to press too hard.

As for the packaging, it comes in a black plastic case with silver accents and has the Real Purity logo written in white.  The packaging is pretty standard but it does what it's supposed to do (swivel up, swivel down) with no problems!

I did the eating test. I do this with all of my lippies to see how they hold up after eating! This lipstick held up pretty well and I'd say about 90% of the lipstick remained on my lips after chowing down.

Would I repurchase Real Purity's lipstick again? Oh yes, you can definitely bet on it!  I want this lipstick in every single color! For sure! Here are the ingredients in this lipstick:

Euphorbia Cerifera (Candellila) Wax*, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Oil*, Aloe Vera Extract*, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil*, Iron Oxide, Micronized Titanium Dioxide, Kaolin (Clay)*, Pycnogenol, Mica (Frosted or Shimmer lipsticks only).

Sounds quite good to me!
