Move Over Lanvin & Lagerfeld, Say Hello to Fashionbymaven

The world of sustainable fashion has a new little genius on hand. Mayhem Keiser is treading through the glorious fields of fashion at the tender age of 4. While most four year olds are actively running around the house in circles, Mayhem along with her mom, Angie are busy working on their next sustainably made outfit. Mayhem is no stranger to the dress up phase that most young girls go through.
When she became bored with the usual play clothing typically sold in stores, she decided to start making her own. Her first fashionable creation used two simple items: construction paper and tape.

Mayhem began to ask her mother to help her create dresses using household items like tissue paper, wrapping paper, saran wrap, foil and towels. Many of the dresses that she designs take no more than 15 minutes to make. Mayhem has become so engrossed in dress making that she's memorized the amount paper that she needs to cover her pint sized body. “She could layout construction paper right now and tape it all together into a dress. She knows how many pieces she needs for a top and bottom," says her mom Angie.

Though her hands do not touch the scissors, Mayhem gets a taste of what it's like to be head creative designer. On a daily basis, this little fashionista chooses the colors that she needs for each piece and describes to her mother what it should look like. She is actively involved in the creation and completion of each dress.
What is a designer without an excellent photographer by their side? Mayhem's parents, Angie and Keith Keiser, are owners of a photography studio in Cincinnati, Ohio. After every creation, Mayhem is photographed in her unique and fashionable design. The photos then make it onto instagram and website, Fashionbymayhem.com. Keiser's instagram page has garnered thousands of followers practically overnight.

Mayhem, creatively nicknamed by her parents in order to protect her identity, has been received by the fashion world with open arms. Harper's Bazaar and Elle magazine have even featured the design making duo on their websites. Two days ago, Angie expressed thoughts about the overwhelming attention they've been receiving of recent.

Now isn't that the way of a forward thinking visionary where the objective is always synonymous with staying focused?! If Mayhem keeps this up, she'll certainly be a force to be reckoned with in the beautiful world of fashion.
